A club tournament designed to keep everyone playing
At Pickleball in Park Club in Sydney, Richard wanted to give higher-intermediate players something more structured than another weekly social format. He designed a 3.5+ doubles tournament with pool play and separate progression paths, giving stronger teams a competitive finish while keeping every participant involved through to the end.
How Richard ran the tournament day
- Pools and standings. Richard set up the player pools, reviewed the competitive balance and followed the positions as scores arrived.
- Courts and progression. He assigned matches to courts and moved players through the event without rebuilding the draw manually after every round.
- Personal player links. Each participant could see their partner, opponents, court and schedule on their own phone instead of relying on the organiser for every update.
- Distributed score entry. Players could enter results as matches finished, helping the tournament keep moving while Richard retained oversight of the day.

Richard's estimated time saving
